Resolving problems with Websydian library model licensing (CrypKey)

Symptoms

When opening a local model or performing a group model login you may experience one or more of the following error messages.

Upgrade to the latest version of the CrypKey License service

The following steps explains how to upgrade to the latest version of the CrypKey License service on your system:

  1. Download the latest version of CrypKey License service from the Websydian download section "Websydian patterns fix packages" at http://www.websydian.com/wsyweb20/dwn/CrypKey_License_Service.zip
  2. Extract the content of the zip file downloaded to the directory c:\CrypKey
  3. Close all open applications
  4. Open the command prompt and issue the following commands

    C:\>cd c:\CrypKey [Enter]

    C:\CrypKey>SetupEx.exe /U [Enter]

  1. Restart your computer as directed
  2. Open the command prompt and issue the following commands

    C:\CrypKey>SetupEx.exe [Enter]

  1. Delete the directory c:\CrypKey
  2. Login to your group model in order to get the site codes required for issuing new licenses for your Websydian patterns. Forward the site codes to the Websydian support team.

Make sure that you have the latest build of CA Plex

Contact CA support at http://www.ca.com/supportconnect to obtain the latest available build of your Plex version.

Always make sure that you do a backup prior to installing the latest build and also read the supplied documents on changes.

As described in the build text file you will need to do the following:

  1. Open the command prompt and issue the following commands

    C:\>cd your_plex_installation_directory [Enter]

    C:\your_plex_installation_directory>regsvr32 CrypKeyCOM.dll [Enter]

  2. You should get a message stating that the registration succeeded.
  3. Close the command line

    C:\your_plex_installation_directory>exit [Enter]

Create a new local model and extract from your group models

In order for all changes to take effect you will need to create a new local model and extract from all group models.
