2E Developer for Websydian Express provides you with the means to develop business processes, which can be deployed in Websydian Express using 2E.
At the core of the 2E Developer is a set of APIs which is used when you want to either write data to a webpage, access data entered by a user on a webpage, or access data in the Websydian Express database (e.g. User/Session information).
Definitions for these APIs are delivered in a 2E model, together with a copylist, which can be used to import the definitions into your own 2E model.
The business processes developed in 2E are deployed using the administration interface just like business processes developed in RPG or using the Plex development tool.
Read more about how to use the administration interface in the Guides and in the Reference documentation for the interface.
If you have not already installed Websydian Express on your iSeries, you have to do so before you can use any business processes you might develop using 2E developer.
After installing Websydian Express, there are a few steps you need to make before you can use develop business processes using 2E.
When developing a business process in 2E, you do two different things:
The definitions of the APIs are scoped under the file Websydian Express.
The tutorial is available as a PDF document.
The example, which is delivered as part of the installation, shows how a simple business process can be developed using the 2E Developer APIs.
To test a developed business process, you will have to define the business process in Websydian Express.
The steps needed to define a business process for test purposes is described here.
