Maintain Frames

Overview

This page shows all of the available frames for the application. From this grid page it is possible to update or delete existing frames or to create new frames.

The specified frames are used in the site structure to specify how the frames specified in the frameset templates are to be populated. Each specified frame must correspond to one (or more) frames in a template used by a frameset content loader.

Grid Page

This is the entry page for the maintenance of frames.

The grid shows the frame names together with a short description of the frame. The records are ordered by the name of the frames.

Entering a value in the "Search for" field and pressing "Find" limits the data in the grid to records, where the frame name contains the value entered.

Entering a value in the "Start with" field positions the grid on the record immediately following the entered value (based on frame name).

Update

The Update page gives you the opportunity to change the value for the description of the frame.

The frame name itself cannot be changed.

Delete

Pressing "Delete" for a frame in the grid leads you to a page, where you can choose to either confirm the deletion of the frame or by pressing "Cancel" to avoid deleting the frame.

Frames used in the site structure tree cannot be deleted.

As frames are not specific to a site it is possible that deleting a frame will fail even though the frame is not used in the current site, because the frame is used in another site.

Insert

Pressing the "Insert" button on the grid page gives you the opportunity to create a new frame.

You must enter both the name of the target and a short description of the target.

Please note that the name of the target must be the one used in the HTML templates used by a frameset template.

By checking the "Continue insertion" box you can avoid returning to the grid page after pressing "Insert". The input fields will just be cleared for the insertion of a new record.
