Insert Business Process
A business process
has to be part of the site structure before it is possible to make it available
for users.
Having the business process in the site structure makes it possible to
control where the business process is to be shown - and who should be able to
use it.
Before inserting a business process in the site structure it is necessary
that the process which will execute the business process and the presentation
which will define the interface of the business process is already defined.
See Create Process and
Define Layout for Process for more
information about how to do this.
It is possible to insert a business process in the structure without
specifying the presentation and process (press "Finish" instead of "Next" before
selecting the presentation). In this case a default presentation showing the
comment entered for the business process is chosen.
The menu item "Site
structure -> Site Structure" is used
for accessing the site structure tree.
The business process can be used in three different contexts.
- The business process will populate a frame, when the frame is loaded by the
frameset
- The business process will populate a frame, when the frame is activated by a
menu item
- The business process is executed when the site is loaded - and populates
the entire browser page
Follow these steps to attach a business process to a frameset element in
order to specify initial load of a frame:
- In the Administration interface left menu select "Site structure -> Site
structure"
- Select the frameset that should load the frame containing the business
process in the site structure tree.
- Press "Add". This starts a wizard that will lead you through the process.
- Select "Create new site element" and "Business Process", press "Next".
- Select the presentation of the business process to be used by pressing
"Select".
Use the search facility to find the presentation.
- Supply information about the site element, and press "Next".
- Text - the name that you want to appear for the menu site element in
the site structure.
- Frame - Name of the frame.
- Comments - Optional comments.
- Assign the roles for the site element, and press "Finish".
Follow these steps to attach a business process to a menu element as a menu
item:
- In the Administration interface left menu select "Site structure -> Site
structure"
- Select the menu that should contain the new business process menu item.
- Press "Add". This starts a wizard that will lead you through the process.
- Select "Create new site element" and "Frameset", press "Next".
- Select the presentation of the business process to be used by pressing
"Select".
Use the search facility to find the presentation.
- Supply information about the site element, and press "Next".
- Menu item text - this is the text that will be shown for the menu
item in the menu. (It will also be shown in the site structure tree).
- Alignment - indicating whether you want to show the menu item in the
first (left) or second (right) section of the menu.
- Sequence - this specifies the order that the menu items will be
shown in. Be aware that by defining two or more menu items with the same
combination of alignment and sequence will result in only one of them
being shown in the menu. Which menu item to show is decided from the
roles assigned to the menu items in combination with the roles assigned
to the current session.
- Display in frame - this specifies the frame you want to split using
the frameset when the menu item is activated.
- Comments - optional field for your comments
- Assign the roles for the site element, and press "Finish".
Follow these steps to attach a business process to the root element,
populating the entire page with the content of the business process:
- In the Administration interface left menu select "Site structure -> Site
structure"
- Select the site root element.
- Press "Add". This starts a wizard that will lead you through the process.
- Select "Create new site element" and "Business Process", press "Next".

"Select".
