Websydian Installation and Operation

This page explains how to install and/or operate Websydian applications on various platforms.

General Websydian Installation

Websydian is installed by executing the shipped installation file. Read more here about what is included in the Websydian distribution.

After you have installed Websydian using the Websydian Installation program, the CA Plex development environment must be set up for Websydian:

DWA (Distributed Websydian Architecture)

The Distributed Websydian Architecture (DWA) interface is developed for high performance and scalability in Websydian applications. By applying the DWA interface, a Websydian application can be scaled by distributing the processing on several application servers.

In contrast to the CWA interface, DWA does not terminate the Websydian application process after a web request and thereby all database and communication connections are preserved.

The documents below describe the installation and setup of DWA:

iSeries Web Server Interface (CWA iSeries)

The documents below describe usage, installation and operation using the iSeries CWA interface.

Windows CGI Interface (CWA Windows)

For information on how to install a Websydian CWA application on various web servers on the Windows platform please follow the link below:

Setting up a Server-Side Scripting Environment

A server-side scripting environment must be set up in order to run scripting applications developed with Websydian:

Development of web applications in an ASP or JSP server-side scripting environment has been fully implemented in Websydian on the Winbdows platform.

The result is an architecture giving full access to the possibilities of server-side scripting and at the same time maintaining the model-based approach and the high level of security provided by Websydian.
